Jack stared at him, shocked. "Y-Wh-B-Huh?" He had not expected that kind of response from the other man. His cheeks flushed red and looked down. "G-good to know?"
Lyla flipped through the channels on the tv. There was nothing on that interested her mind. She turned it off and got off the bed. She looked around the room for something to do. Spotting a notebook and a Sharpie, she grabbed it. Flipping to a clean page, (her brother taught her to do this once when they stayed with an old woman for a few days. They left when she called the police and tried to frame Jack for stealing her jewelry, so she could keep Lyla.) she started to doodle.

Skulls could only smirk as he went and relaxed back into his seat once again. "Just a curiosity..." He glanced back out the to the living room while relaxing he smled happy to know that Whiskey was indeed what he wished for. Though he seemed not to forget Apples who was indeed up to somehting he just had one of the feelings about that.
His obisian eyes scanned over his dirty living room as he rolled his eyes. Kids... couldn't live with them though would hate to live without them at times. Apples though seemed different. though Skulls felt bad about embarrassing Whizkey...

Jack glanced at him quickly, then looked away. He was unsure what to do, so he started to eat his pancakes. There was a tiny smile on his face, one he was unaware of. Skulls hadn't started hating him, nor had he kicked them out. Lyla finished her picture and ran out to the kitchen. She tossed the notebook up on the table and grinned. "Ta-da!" Apple grinned at the two men. When she spoke, it was to Jack. "Tangerine writes really pretty poems! Like you!"

The orange haired Neko blinked in surprize at the sudden rukus that Apples had jsut created. Blinking his obsidian eyes he hadn't thought the young girl would have found his writing notebook. Not in a million years it just shows that females where ten times more observant than the male population. Skulls glanced between the two of his guests wondering if he should feel embarrassed or take it in towe like normal. he decided for the normal reaction he gave.
He wondered what she read. Sure he had poems in their but he also hid recipes within crappy poems. That was one secret he had kept to himself. Though he often found himself writing about an ancient war probably since it intriggued him ever so much.

Jack's blush blazed stronger than ever, at both the picture and his sister's admission to him writing poetry. Then, all of what his sister said struck him. He looked up at Skulls incredulously. "Y-you write p-poetry t-too?"
Lyla was proud of herself. She is such a smart cookie! She slipped away and went back to Skulls' room.

Skulls blinked and was about to get Apples back into the room though the sneaky little brat snuck out! A irritated look appeared on his face but he quickly went blank again as Whiskey exclaimed out the question basically. The older amle neko blinked and thought wondering if he should but quickly decided his thoughts. Skulls notice the adorable blush that crossed the black haired neko's face making him smile.
"Yeah, what about it?" asked Skulls ina a loof attitude. Whilest he smirked at the younger Neko he wondered how old this guy was.

"W-well w-what do y-you write a-about?" His eyes widened a fraction. "I-if you d-don't m-mind my a-asking." He ducked his head, ashamed. He was stuttering again. This guy is so cool, and he is sooo not. His poetry was probably so much better than his own, he never stuttered, he was kind, he could handle kids. Jack, on the other hand, couldn't even take care of his sister properly. He waited for an answer from the god across the table.

Skulls listened to Whiskey speak. He was stuttering again. It made Skuls sigh and here he thought he had gotten so far with the black haired neko. Boy was he wrong. "I write bad poetry havlf of it should be burned on the spot... Otherwise about history what about you?" asked the orange haired neko. He wasn't being modest about that one either. He hated practically all of his poetry.
Skull's glanced his black eyes at the black haired Neko across from him. He was deffinatly a cute one. "You know you don't have to be afraid to ask questions and what not..." pointed out Skulls in a gentle tone not wanting to embarrass hte cute younger black neko.

Jack looked at the man and tipped his head. He couldn't be that bad. Then, to answer his question, he said "I write a-about pe-people we've met, p-places we've b-been, a-and things Lyla d-does. And s-sometimes I h-have to w-write quick, m-m-meaningless ones f-for Lyla when sh-she's bored o-or sad." When he and Lyla would have long roads from nowhere to nowhere and surrounded by nothing, he would make up stories and poems on the spot in an effort to entertain his sister. Sometimes, they would play a game where she would help write the story or poem, but generally, she just listened.

Skulls listened while taking note on the look in the yougner Neko's eyes. Though he nodded and understood ever so slightly why the poems and stories would have helped a young child at Apples age would prefer or rather like the things that her odler brother created with ir without her to listen to. He nodded and stated a polite thnak you though he was far from polite.
Skulls felt the conversation seem like it died fairly quickly since he really didn't know how to uphold it. "So where did you vist?" asked the orange haired Neko.

Jack smiled a small, faraway smile. "We went all over. We tried to stay out of cities, but a few were unavoidable. When we were not in cities, we were in the country. We went through a small desert, once. Not a good experience, for Lyla was just a year old. Otherwise, the country was fairly monotonous. The cities, however, were so different from eachother! There were always strange smells and strange people. We could get food easier, as well. Unfortunatly, it was also easier to get caught or separated. I couldn't let us stay in the cities." he sighed sadly when he finished speaking.

Skulls listened taking in every small detail that seemed to pop up it wasn't like he didn't care it was for a fact that he did care very much so.he brushed some orange locks of fine hair out of his face after seeing Whiskey sigh. That tone didn't sound so nicely. "have any plans on sticking around," Skulls asked knowing he would have to pry answers off of Whiskey just to get answer or rather to keep up a conversation. One of his hands slid into his lap as his obsidian eyes fell into watching an examining the black haired younger neko.

Jack looked at him through sad eyes, coming out of the past. Then, he smiled. "We'll stay as long as Lyla is safe and happy. And as long as we have somewhere to stay. The day those are compromised is the day we leave." Here, he paused and thought again about the past. "That is how it has always been." He never cared whether he was safe, as long as she was. Besides, he knew he could get out of trouble, and althoughh she was good at it, Lyla was just too youg to be able to do so.

Skulls listened to the black haired Neko. He cared deeply for his little sister of coarse he knew that the minute he saw the neko. Skulls eyed him before asking "what about yourself? If your not safe how can you guarantee Apples safety would be their?" He knew it was a harsh question but he needed to point it out. Whiskey was going to have to learn his and his little sister's safety was important to one another. he took in the smile for the briefest of moments considering that it might disappear quite quickly.

Jack bit his bottom lip, looking thoughtfully at the orange-haired man. "Yes, it it true that her safety and my safety might overlap, but if what is keeping her safe is unsafe for me, I will do it. I will protect her. Always." He got a determined gleam in his eye at these last words. He remembered various times where what he was talking about had been a reality for them. If compromising his safety compromised hers, they left, but if she was being taken care of, he would stay, under the illusion that it was the best thing for her. He scrunched up his face and let his head fall to the table. "I trust people way to easily," he groaned into the wood.
