WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,
& your thoughts have taken their toll [/color] ,[/size]  ---------------------------------------------------------------------Jasper crouched low, his body tensed, waiting to spring on the unsuspecting deer that stood in front of him. His nose twitched, taking in the scent of the warm blood that coursed through it's veins. This was by no means any where near as mouthwatering as human blood, but being the vegetarian he was, he couldn't chomp down onto some unsuspecting neck... although somtimes it was so tempting No. No. It was strictly woodland animals and raw steaks for him. His mouth watered, saliva pooling in the sides of his mouth, his long tanned fingers reaching up to whipe away what had managed to drip from his mouth. It had been weeks since he'd had a decent taste of blood without the interruption of fat and gristle that clung to a steak. He'd lied to 'Chelle, telling her he was going to visit family out of town when, in reality, he'd been driving out to the woods for a weekend hunting trip to banish his blood lust, even if only for a little while. She didn't know he was a vampire. He'd kept his chilled skin, fangs, blood lusting personality a secret from her. It almost hurt how bad she trusted him, and how little he allowed himself to trust her with. So much could hurt her fragile human body.... He was dangerous enough, just one vampire with the huge urge to tear into her. Self control and a huge amount of love was the only reason whe wasn't one of him... or dead. This is why he needed to hunt, to tear into a defensless animal. To keep her safe. He was just about to flit forward when he heard something in his head, a small twinge taunting him in the back of his head. Shame on you for keeping secrets Jazz. It wasn't his voice it was someone else. He was sure somene... someTHING... was in his head. He shook his head slightly and the talking stopped. He paused, confused, before looking back at the grazing deer. He took a deep, silent breath and flitted forward, intent on catching his meal. As he lept forward though, something rock hard hit him, knocking any intake of air out of him and sending him sprawling in the other direction. He lay there, looking up at the sky, wondering what the hell had just happened.

Sophia watched the vampire as he was ready to strike the helpless deer. She pushed a few strands of her blonde hair out of her smirking. This was the vampire that was in love with the human. To her it was sickening to fall in love with one who couldn't understand or even begin to comprehend what you go through to keep them safe. She'd been watching the two for quite a while. She didn't even know about his thirst for blood. Stupid humans never catch on to anything.
She giggled mentally. Perhaps it would would entertain her for a while to mess with his mind. Maybe if she was lucky enough make him go insane in the process. "shame on you for keeping secrets Jazz" she hissed silently though loud enough he could hear. She crossed his arms as he tried to remain focused on his dinner. She lept from her hiding place. Her knees impacted with his chest and he went flying backwards.
Sophia on the other hand landed on her feet and hand. She looked up at him and stood. "Well well that wasn't to hard." she giggled walking towards the vampire boy. "And here I thought it would be a lot harder to get you on the ground." At this point she was standing beside him. She lifted her foot and placed it on his chest so he couldn't get up.
"So tell me Jasper...how is your naive girlfriend doing? Michelle was her name right? Such a stupid girl for trusting you" She chuckled twisting her foot, digging it deeper into his stomache. "What a shame it would be if you came back and she was gone" she said smirking showing off her fangs. She looked up to see the deer scamper away "Oh no looks like I ran your dinner away what ever will you do?"

He tried to sit up and look at the approaching person, but his body was momentarily paralyzed, causing him to lay groaning on the ground. "And here I thought it would be a lot harder to
get you on the ground." A cold voice grated against his eardrums, causing him to wince. He tried sitting up, failing as a boot dug into his stomach. He grabbed her ankle, looking up into her mirthless eyes. Who are you? He managed to groan out. She ignored him though, a savage giggle escaping her lips as she said, So tell me Jasper...how is your
naive girlfriend doing? Michelle was her name right?
Such a stupid girl for trusting you" At the sound of Michelle's name, Jasper's chocolate brown optics widened in panic. He tried to shove her away, but struggled under her unexpectadly strong grip. She can trust... me. She... she knows she can ALWAYS
trust me! She looked down at him and laughed, digging her heel down deeper into his gut, causing him to go still "What a shame it would be if you came back and '
she was gone" She said something about the deer, her long elegant fangs gleaming in the sunlight. Jasper didn't hear it. Suddenly, he had the human version of an adrenaline rush, the fear of losing HIS 'Chelle the scariest idea of all. He gripped her ankle in a grip that would have crushed a normal beings bones and jerked her off her feet, flitting to his feet as she fell. One hand went to her throat, clutching it as tightly as he possibly could. "Don't you EVER threaten "Chelle. EVER!" He stared into her eyes, which were now filled with mirth. Who
the hell are you?" he said, chest heaving. ANSWER

Sophia's eyes widened as she was brought to the ground. Something about this girl brought out his strength. "Interesting" She grinned, "Is that your pet name for the human. Chelle?" She laughed getting enjoyment out of this. Slowly she closed her blue eyes, "My name is Sophia. Sophia Ryde.And I must warn you it will take a whole hell of alot more to get me down for long" she hissed as the bottom of her boot connected with his chest. She watched as he flew backwards.
Slowly she stood and brushed herself off. She smirked, "Perhaps it'd be even more fun to have you watch her die infront of your very eyes." she said laughing. "If i made you watch as I drained every drop of blood from her body. It makes me sick how you care for her." she said as she walked towards him again. "How you love her." She stopped infront of the boy and grabbed his face in her hand. "Most of all how you lie to her about all this and how she's stupid enough to believe it."
"Perhaps she'd be a bit safer if you explained. But you can't do that now can you. Do you know why Jazzy? It's because your afraid. Afraid she will reject you, taunt you, judge you. Because your a monster like me. A monster who dosen't belong with a human. We were built to kill humans not love them." she said narrowing her eyes at him.
She then smiled letting go of his face "Trust me Jazzy maybe it's better if you don't tell her. She would become afraid of you and you might even snap and kill her yourself." She laughed putting her hands on her hips "And i'd pay money to watch you kill your own love.Of coarse if you don't snap before I get bored I suppose i'll just have to do it myself. What a pain that would be." she sighed running a hand through her hair. She smirked waiting for a response of somekind. She planned to make him lose his mind right here

He stayed there this time, his body perfectly capable of movment. It was better if he just sat there and listened to whatever this... newcomer had to say. He shook his head violently in her grip. No... No,
she's safer not knowing. His voice was choked.
He'd always thought that if she kept this... himself
and his kind from her, she'd be safer. Sophia ignored
him.
You can't do that now can you? Do you know why
Jazzy? It's because your afraid. Afraid she will reject
you, taunt you, judge you. Because your a monster
like me. A monster who dosen't belong with a human.
We were built to kill humans not love them. He
glared up at her, his face full of unspoken rage. When
he had first been turned, almost two hundred years
ago, he HAD viewed himself as a monster, a blood thirsty
killer. He could have been easily, and was at first, but now, because people like "Chelle had helped him realize that
he was decent. Not all vampires were.
"I am... NOT a monster! His voice betrayed him,
letting some of the poisioned rage behind his eyes leak
out into the open. Not a monster, not all of us. She smirked at him, finally letting his face go with a jerk of
her hand.
Trust me Jazzy maybe it's better if you don't tell
her. His eyes narrowed at the nickname, his shoulders
rolling in anticipation of a fight he hoped would start.
She would become afraid of you and you might even
snap and kill her yourself. She stood over him, hands
on her hips in a disgustingly smug manner. "And i'd pay money to watch you kill your own love.Of coarse if you
don't snap before I get bored I suppose i'll just have
to do it myself. What a pain that would be. With that,
he was on his feet, lunging towards her.
STAY AWAY FROM HER! he roared, attempting to
tear into her. He wanted this threat to his life dead, gone
for good.

Sophia grinned moving to the side. She clapped while she laughed, "Finally it gets amusing." she said with pure enjoyment in her voice.She stared at him, a smiled still danced on her lips "I used to think like you Jazzy. That we weren't monsters. I used to be like you trying to protect humans by drinking the blood of woodland creatures," she began as she got into a fighting stance
"I even lived in a human town. I had human friends. Until one day...I snapped." She said laughing. "Could you imagine the blood I spilled that day? How I gorged on the people I called my friends. Even as their screams pierced my ears. I realized that day how wrong it was to live the way you do. To trust yourself around humans." she said smiling. "Now that I look back on it. I quite enjoyed their screams and seeing their bodies on the floor dead. All because of my doing."
She smirked "You'll end up just the same Jazzy. If you truley loved her you'd let her go. You would let her live a normal life without you. To keep her safe." she said. She closed her eyes, "But you wouldn't do that would you? Your to attached. Like a pet to it's owner." she laughed. "Perhaps I'll have to break that bond" she said as she charged at him jumping in the air. The side of her foot hit his face. As he flew sideway she turn in the air and managed to land on her feet.
"Your weak Jazzy" she smirked. "And you plan to protect Michelle? How pathetic you should just give up now. Trust me Jazzy there are stronger vampires out there than me and some are even after her." she said smirking. "I'm surprised you haven't had troubles yet. Either way if you keep fighting like that you can kiss Michelle's cold lifeless body." she said. Her blue eyes were bright, entertained.
"Do you still plan to fight me? In that case I suppose I should get you a bit more angry. You seem to do better when I threaten the human girl. " She sighed crossing her arms. "Perhaps then," she began licking her lips and then grinned, "We can have some really fun." She really enjoyed this. Perhaps a bit to much.

Who the fuck did he think she was? She was someone without self control. Love did things to people... vampires, and it had a stronger control over him than even his hunger did. He ran at her again, angry at how quickly she had shoved him aside. You'll end up just the same Jazzy. If you truley
loved her you'd let her go. You would let her live
a normal life without you. To keep her safe. Your to
attached. Like a pet to it's owner. She was right of course, and he knew it. He was selfish. She would be safer without him in her life. HE couldn't live without her though. Sophia watched him "Odd. It's odd how you breath so heavily like you need to." she laughed. She took her time and looked around at their surroundings. She smirked and ran towards him with quick speed. She turned kicking him in the back so he fell to the ground. She laughed manically as she slowly ran a hannd through his hair. She grabbed a handful of it jerking him up to his feet "To slow"
She pulled him to the ground by his hair and smiled. She stomped one of her boots into his shoulder. "It's a shame I thought you would be much more of a fighter." she closed her eyes and took her foot off him backing up. "Tell me do you feel the same way about all humans that you do about Michelle? Would oyu do anythign to protect them?"
She smirked looking at the sky. She closed her eyes and sniffed the air. "Do you smell that? Humans." she smirked looking down at him. "I wonder how fast they can scatter. I also wonder...if you can beat me to them. If been a bit famished latley" she laughed as she bolted past him into the woods. If he didn't follow her she'd just find him again. He wasn't that hard to track after all. If he did follow her well...it would be fun. She wanted to see his face when she killed a helpless human infront of his very own eyes.
She glanced back still at full speed to see if he was following. She knew though she could outrun him. The humans fate was already seals. They were dead. All of them.

When you live with humans, you tend to
pick up their habits. Turns out, breathing is
pretty high up on the list. Suddenly, she was
gone, flitting behind him, kicking him in the back
and sending him sprawling before he had a chance
to react. Before he could get to his feet, she
was dragging him up, hand gripping his shaggy
black hair .
"To slow" It came out sing song, annoying.
She shoved him down again, fingers still tangled
in his hair, her boot holding him down while her
hand held him up, her finger still woven in.
"It's a shame I thought you would be much
more of a fighter." she paused for a moment,
backing off. "Tell me do you feel the same way
about all humans that you do about Michelle?
Would oyu do anythign to protect them?" He
heard her sniff. "Do you smell that? Humans."
He could smell it, the musky smell of the hikers that
tracked through the woods every day. . "I wonder
how fast they can scatter. I also wonder...if you can
beat me to them. If been a bit famished latley" His
head jerked up at those words. Truth was, that he
not only loved Chelle, he felt connected to the humans
in a way he supposed only he could understand. He
couldn't let her sink her fangs into any of them. He was
up on his feet in a human heartbeat, flitting forward,
pressing himself as fast as he could. He could see her
then, and he pushed himself harder, throwing his arms
around her middle, and sending them both tumbling
to the floor. She tried to lash out at him with her feet,
but he was prepared this time, and pinned her legs
against his, his grip tight.
STOP IT! he thundered. JUST. STOP IT!

Sophia smirked thinking she had the upper hand. Unitl something grabbed her waist. She realized it was his arms. The two went tumbling "you little bastard!" She snapped attempting to nail him in the chest once again. Instead he pinned her legs to the ground. Impossible he couldn't have known...could he? She grabbed his neck inbetween her fingers "let go!"
It was a bluff. Her hands were weak but she wasn't going to let him win. Not this way. "I said let go!" She was beginning to panic. No longer did she have the upper hand in the situation. STOP IT! he thundered. JUST. STOP IT! She glared at him and attempted to get her feet free. He was strong now that he was calmer. She hated this. He had found her weak spot.
Her eyes narrowed, "Fool." she said attempting to tighten her grip on his throat though it did nothing. Again she tried to get her leg free to no avail. She was stuck. She wasn't sure what to do now. She looked around trying to find a way out but couldn't. She was dead. If he chose to kill her. And she couldn't find a reason he shouldn't. Every bone in his body should hate her. "Finish it then" she hissed. Perhaps he was to weak to kill her. He didn't have the guts to no matter what she did to him.

They had gouged a huge indention in the floor, and now they were laying in it, whith him on top of her. His nostrils flared, as he pinned her down, his body shaking with anger. LET GO! she shrieked.
And let you go after those unsuspecting humans? I don't think so!
I said let go!
No way on earth
she glared up at him. Fool. He stayed there for a while, trying to get his hot temper under control when she hissed through her teeth, Finish it then.
He bared his fangs, lowering his mouth to her bared throat, about to tear into her and rip her apart when he felt something, a presence.... and suddenly severe pain ripped through his body, causing him to writhe. She felt it too. He laughed. You don't think the elders weren't watching ALL of this do you? He felt releived that someone was there. He didn't want to kill her, but he knew he would if he had too. Another wave of pain tore through them, causing him to fall away from her.
As suddenly as it began, it was all over and then five ancient vapires were standing before them.

Sophia eyes closed waiting for him to end it. Maybe it would be better this way. Suddenly she felt a wave of sudden pain. "Shit" she cursed. It struck her odd he was laughing. You don't think the elders weren't watching ALL of this do you? he had asked her a relieved expression pasted on his face. Sophia growled. Those stupid elders were always getting in her way. She sat up but felt another burst of pain. She winced and stood slowly. "What the hell are you doing here?" she snapped getting another shot of pain. She fell to her knees "fuck!"
why? why did they always have to ruin everything. They always ruined her fun. It wasn't the first time she'd been in trouble with them. She stood looking at the five. "What now?"

If Jasper was one thing, it was respectful
He dropped to his knees, bowing, which
was a customary and proper greeting when
meeting up with one of the elders. He tilted
his head up and then rose to his feet, standing
still "What the hell are you doing here?"
Suddenly, Sofia was on her knees as well,
wincing as pain induced by Nagiza's special
power raced through her body. That should
have been "What now?"
Jasper cut his gaze over to her, watching her
closely as the leader, Elezar spoke, Why
are you two fighting each other? His
voice was calming making him almost sleepy.
There is a greater danger out there, one
that is a danger to not only humans, but us
as well. He watched the two of them as
Denali, a forseer spoke.
It has been forseen that the two of you
will save our kind... human kind... by working
together. Jasper started
But...?! he felt a twinge of pain in his
brain as Nagiza looked at him and fell silent.
He looked over at Sofia to guage her reaction.
He had a feeling she wouldn't be happy about
it either.

Sophia closed her eyes sighing, "A threat to both humans and vampired huh?" She smirked a bit. This sounded like a challenge. A challenge she wanted to take and planned on taking it whether they let her or not. It has been forseen that the two of you will save our kind... human kind... by working together. Sophia's eyes snapped open and she grimanced.
"Hell no I refuse to work with the likes of him." She snapped, "I can do it myself i don't need any new borns to hold me back!" Nagiza looked at her and she fell to the ground in pain. "w-would oyu stop that?!" The pain once again over came her until she was on her hands and knees. FInally she became silent. She hated this why did she have to fucking work with him?
On the other hand it would get her closer to his little human girlfriend. She smirked looking up "Fine I'm in" She said standing up and brushing herself off. She looked at Jasper "What do you say Jazzy? A truce at least for now?" she asked grinning as she held out her hand to him.

Jasper didn't like this. He knew what her sudden change in attitude was about. He didn't have to be a mind reader to know the vile thoughts that were racing through her head. He took her hand though, knowing that he would take care of everything he had to, no matter who got in his way. He deserved to be happy... WITH Michelle... He'd work with Satan himself if it meant she'd be safe
Elezar looked at them, nodding in approval. As we know more, we will contact you. Jasper nodded, bowing his head as the five elders floated back amongst the trees. He turned back towards Sofia, looked at her, and then turned and walked away, not wanting to deal with her. He was going to find something to eat, and go home.
